The Sock Fundraising Company
"Everybody Wears socks," said Mitch Ellis, Co-owner of The Sock Fundraising Company. "It's a product everyone needs." Ellis, who has over 20 years of experience in the industry, did a great deal of research before beginning the fundraiser. From this research Ellis learned a crucial lesson; the trend of groups selling products for more than they're worth is quickly going out of style. As other expenses increase, consumers are less willing to part with their money, even for fundraisers. The Sock Fundraising Company was built with the premise of selling a high quality product at fair prices. "That’s why we're successful," said Ellis.
Ellis became interested in creating a new way of fundraising through his involvement with the community. His experience as a coach and a father gave him an up close view of typical fundraisers. "I got tired of selling items at unfair prices," he said. The Sock Fundraising Company sells its products below the regular market value and still manages to give 40% of the sale price to the customer/sponsor.
"Everyone knows of someone who needs to do a fundraiser or have a fundraising event," said Ellis. "This is also a good way to teach kids sense of responsibility." Who better to do that with than a locally owned and locally run organization?
